Labor Day 2005

We spent the weekend relaxing at Jen's cabin.  It was great seeing her again and Kira had fun (at least most of the time) with her dogs Desdemona and Guinness, also know as Dez and Guin; respectively.  Dez is a Yellow Lab and Guin is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever (not a Chocolate Lab with funny fur).  

Dez has come quite a long way; she's had both hind knees worked due to degeneration.  Six months ago she was still recovery from surgery and walking gingerly.  Now, WOW!!  Boy she can an she run like the wind and swim like a fish.  It's good to she her happy and healthy; and Guin, I think he's pure fish.  All he did was swim all weekend, even when there wasn't anything to go fetch.  I have videos of Dez and Guin playing fetch and swimming, but I haven't figured out how to get it uploaded to the website.  Oh yeah, the little Pug is Lucy who belongs to Jen's neighbor Jim. 

We also want to thank Jim and his sister Dawn (Jen's cabin neighbors) plus the rest of their families for letting us hang out with them.  Also, kudos to Jim for his excellent skills in boating and his successful attempt  in causing Monika to almost completely lose her swim bottoms after a spectacular barrel roll wipe-out from the innertube.
